The Few, The Proud, The Meyersblawggers!

Well kids, this is it. The new and improved Meyersblawg. And like that retro-cool fashion jacket of the 80s, it's "Members Only." As such, I think all y'all should be the first to suggest the first topic. Here are the parameters:

a. School appropriate: No legalizing drugs, or insulting language!

b. Open-ended: Make it a topic which allows dialogue (notice I said dialogue, not argument!!)

c. Cold War-related: This gives you a 50 year window, so c'mon, be creative!

d. Refrain from "counter-culture" at this point: We'll be covering the hippies later- I promise!

Let's see your ideas!

Thomas,

You said that, "However, this does not nessecarily mean Chernobyl, 3 Mile Island and particullarly Tokaimura, I thought, that, although there are similarities to the Cold War (and its lack of concern for public safety), these were power plants for the public that was only based on technology developed becuase of Cold War, not for competition w/ other countries."

Unfortunately, Chernobyl (who's anniversary was yesterday,) wasn't safe in comparison with nuclear power plants in, say, the United States. I just read an article about it- there were some serious flaws in design that led to the accident. Then the USSR hid the diaster from the rest of the world for days, when we could of been helping out.

David, you could, but then you would have your license to post revoked. (It would be like James Bond having his license to kill revoked to you... you wouldn't be able to live with yourself.)

Sir Thomas, I had a request from a certain person whose last name rhymes with "liars, hires, tires, fires, buyers" that you stop calling him sir. Face it Thomas, to other people who find this blog (somehow), they'll find it incredibly disturbing. (Just like I did...) So, abide by the rules (okay, we just kind of made up this rule), and don't fly your kite near powerlines. Otherwise, you'll get 'shocked' when you find you can't post on the blog anymore. (Okay, this beats Meyers' Hue joke... in terms of the stupid factor.)
